Everything about Vinci Italy totally explained

Vinci is a town and comune of Firenze province in the Italian region of Tuscany, at 26 m (85 ft) above sea level. The population was 13,900 according to the 2003 census. The area of the comune is 54 km². The city is surrounded by the Tuscan Hills. Vinci was founded around the year 1250. The Castle of Vinci was built by Conti Guidi, and the original nucleus of the castle is a tower. In the second half of XII century, Vinci passed under the jurisdiction of Florence, and the Guidi's family sold the castle only to repurchase it in 1260. After 10 years, Guidi's family sold the castle definitively to Florence.
   The town is best known for its proximity to the birthplace of Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. It draws about 500,000 visitors a year to see things such as his birthplace and the Museum of Leonardo.
